The Ms. Foundation for Women builds women’s collective power across race and class to tackle the root causes of injustice and ignite progressive change for all.
We believe deeply that those who experience a problem have the perspective necessary to solve it.
That’s why for over 35 years, we’ve supported the solutions of those on the ground who are most impacted by poverty, violence and other forms of injustice—especially low-income women, women of color, immigrant women, youth and LGBTQ people. Time and again, their voices and vision lead to more equitable changes in policy and culture for everyone.
Today, we deliver strategic support to over 150 trailblazing organizations that are advancing women’s solutions for change at decision-making tables across the U.S.
Creating Connections: Strategies for Stronger Movements
We know we’re most successful when we make connections among the many challenges people face and the many people and movements needed to create change.
For years, the Ms. Foundation has linked donors, activists and organizations in common purpose. Today, we’re making new and deeper connections of all kinds—across issues, constituencies, and organizing levels, and across gender, race and class—to strengthen social movements and build greater power to ignite change. Our support enables groups to:
- Organize creatively across issues, organizations and movements instead of trying to solve one problem, one organization at a time.
- Promote solutions that recognize the combined impact of race, class and gender in communities throughout the U.S.
- Connect the wisdom of grassroots solutions to the power of national advocacy campaigns.
- Link and leverage strategies to bring new and diverse constituencies into the fold.
- Strengthen relationships with multiple social movements to ensure that all progressive organizing incorporates women’s unique leadership and expertise.
